This tool is no longer available because Yahoo Search Marketing is no longer providing the information that it requires. Sorry!

Are those really your best keywords?

The Keyword Susser (suss is a British word meaning to figure out) attempts to determine the best keywords for your site. In the form below, enter your email address and a list of individual keywords or phrases that you think are related to your website, then submit the form.

The Susser will then query the Overture.com Search Term Suggestions Tool for each of the terms you entered, and provide you with a sorted report combining all the results. The more queries a search term got, the higher it will appear in the list.

Some (heck, many) of the search terms will be inappropriate, of course, but once you get rid of those, you'll be left with a list, in order of importance, of all the keyphrases you ought to be targeting. If you then take these keyphrases and tweak your pages so that they target them, you should be able to get better search engine results. Read my preparing your pages for the search engines tutorial to learn how to do that.

The Susser works best if you give it one- or two-word keywords to work with. Good luck!

Important Note: As of February 2007, the Search Terms Suggestion Tool is "unsupported" by Yahoo/Overture, so the Susser may stop working at any time. An alternate, and excellent, free tool for this kind of research is the Wordtracker Free Keyword Research Tool. Please consider using it instead.

PayPerClickSearchEngines.com is a good site that is full of information and links related to pay-per-click search engines.
