How to request a reciprocal link from another site

Getting similar sites to link to you is an important traffic builder, and in the future may improve your search engine rankings. GIVING links to other sites also helps you, EVEN if you don't get a reciprocal link back, because it makes your site more useful to your visitors.

Believe it or not, 11.13% of the people who use SelfPromotion.com support the site!
So here's how to get people to link to you.

1) Find a site you'd like to trade links with.

2) Add a link to them on your site

3) Write a personalized email to the webmaster, telling him what you liked about his site, and mentioning that you've linked to it. Tell him or her the page that contains the link to them. Explain what your site is about, and request a link back.

The key is PERSONALIZATION. An email that starts "I found your website on the net..." is sure to be categorized as stupid spam, but "I really liked your explanation of widget manufacturing on http://www.widgets.com/manuf/processes.html " demonstrates you've actually looked over the site.

Good luck!
