Believe it or not, 11.13% of the people who use SelfPromotion.com support the site!
Basically, it's like this. First, you create an account. Then, for each URL you want to promote, you create a record. This record (you can have more than one!) contains all the data you enter about your URL.

Using the pulldown menus, you select the record you want to work on, and the type of site you want to promote to (such as "Search Engines"). They are broken down into chunks to make them manageable.

The next page is Site Selection, which tells you all about the sites you can promote to, and also what (if anything) you've already done. You click on the sites you want to promote to, and hit the Enter Data button.

Now the magic begins. The site figures out exactly what information is needed to promote your URL to the sites you've selected and creates a form that gathers this information. It fills in any fields it can from information you've already provided.

You fill in this form. This is where you'll be asked for a URL, as well as other information. You may be asked some unusual questions, and you may be asked to answer the same question more than once in different ways (for example, if one site you're promoting to wants a 20 word description, and another one allows a 30 word description, the form will ask you for both)

When you're done, at the bottom you'll find the ENERGIZE button. Click it and the site will save your data in its database; do a huge amount of error checking; check your URL to make sure it's OK; and schedule your record for promotion.

Then you just repeat the process for the next chunk of sites ("Major Indexes", "General Indexes", and so on).

About this site...
This site was developed on a Macintosh, programmed in WebSiphon, and served by WebStar. The author, on those exceedingly rare occasions when he does think, indeed thinks differently.

It looks (and works) better when you use version 4.0 or better of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, but can be used with any tables-capable browser.
