Keywords, or more precisely, keyphrases, are the words you think people searching for your site are going to type in to their search engine queries.

Obviously, you want to rank highly for these keyphrases. You do this by optimizing your web-pags, making sure they contain the important keyphrases in their content, title and meta-tags.

Often, the choice of keyphrases is not obvious. Some popular keyphrases that are directly associated with your site may not be worth targeting because they are so popular that your odds of getting a high ranking are low. A less popular variant might generate more traffic.

My preparing your pages for the search engines article takes you step by step through the process of keyphrase selection, and contains links to several resources that are very useful in figuring out what your keyphrases really are.

About this site...
This site was developed on a Macintosh, programmed in WebSiphon, and served by WebStar. The author, on those exceedingly rare occasions when he does think, indeed thinks differently.

It looks (and works) better when you use version 4.0 or better of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, but can be used with any tables-capable browser.
